Traveling tattoo artist and former RVA resident Pete stopped through for a shoot. Despite a torrential downpour, all was successful. I hope that this will be one of many shoots with this lovely and talented artist.

About Pete as told by Pete herself:

I took an interest in the art of tattoo at a very young age. I got my first on my 13th birthday. A simple treble clef that years later I got added onto – I have been in love with them ever since. I’ve always dabbled in the arts.. From music to painting and sculpting. In early 2006, after some long and hard thinking I finally started taking myself seriously as an artist and decided to pursue something a little more permanent. Something I could make into a healthy career and ultimately give back to my community. So under the wing of Tony Anj, a tattoo artist with over 25 years of experience, I flew. He helped make the transition of making my mark on what was then stretched bamboo canvas to living derma fairly and surprisingly easy. He always would lean in over my earlier pieces and say “Dammit, you’re a natural!” I’ve been engaged in the art of tattoo for just over six years now. I’ve come to learn a lot about myself as a person, pick up on many different techniques, and have met many clients that have since become very good friends. Long ago I once read somewhere that “a scar is a tattoo with a better story,” in that moment I knew exactly how I wanted to use my art for the good and empowerment of people.

After apprenticing under California’s own, Tony Anj and working in a few notable tattoo studios throughout the area as well as guesting in others on consistent basis I branched out on my own. Being that I’ve always been quite the traveler, I chose to broaden my accessibility by creating a mobile service catering mostly, but not solely, to an all female based clientele. I now frequent the New York tri-state area as well as Atlanta beyond the DMV and have had many opportunities which have led me to Dallas, Los Angeles, Chicago and many other cities across the country. Working with such a diverse group of clients, I’ve come to learn a lot about myself by simply listening to others triumphs and hardships when having to create a custom piece of art. Since branching out on my own I have also collaborated with some pretty amazing artists of other genres as well – which you will also see sprinkled throughout my site. Not only do I provide custom tattoos, but I also use 100% organic ink which is proven to be much healthier than chemically enhanced ink and achieves the same if not better results after the healing process. Ultimately, my mission is to dedicate my services to providing private consulting for self mutilators and victims of physical trauma – to take old scars and make them BEAUTIFUL.”
